Job Description :


To provide professional direction and assistance in organizing and developing a dynamic and effective network of partners directed at meeting the needs and advancing the causes of children in Marion County.



  • Serve as principal professional resource to the Board of Directors, Officers, and key volunteer committees of the organization, and assist them in matters of policy formulation and interpretation and in monitoring of policy implementation.

  • Cultivate and develop cooperative relationships among public, private and governmental groups such as service providers, funding sources, planning bodies, business, and governmental entities.

  • Assist the Board of Directors in establishing the vision, mission, and strategic direction and organizational work plan.

  • Obtain and develop competent staff to carry out defined roles and work assignments.

 Manage and direct the activities in the following areas:

  • Operations:  This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization.  

  • Resource Development:  Planning, organizing, implementing – including grant writing.  

  • Public Relations & Marketing:  Enhancing public awareness, understanding and support of youth needs through coordinated marketing and communications programs. 

  • Financial Management:  Managing and accounting for financial and capital resources including property, official records and the operating budget. 

  • Administration:  Developing effective, support systems for the organization in such areas as computer services, staff and volunteer training, procurement, personnel and building management.


    **Performs other duties as assigned.



    The scope of this position is broad, requiring significant relationships with persons at all levels within the public, private and voluntary sectors.  These persons include corporate chief executive officers, local government leadership, representatives of other social service organizations and the faith based community.

Required Qualifications :

Education, Training and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, social sciences, business administration or public administration or related field, is strongly preferred. 

  •  Five years of progressively responsible management or non-profit experience, or any equivalent combination with related education and experience.  Demonstrated competence with related education and experience. Demonstrated competence in the areas of fund-raising and community problem-solving.


  • Fund-raising and development, public relations, community problem-solving, management, strategic planning, finance and budgeting, public speaking, written and oral communication.
