Job Description :
The Human Resource Generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, labor relations, and affirmative action. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The Generalist must be sensitive to department needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures

  • Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions

  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations

  • Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary

  • Maintains employee personnel files

  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement

  • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner (i.e., 10-days, three months, six months, one year and yearly thereafter)

  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements

  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing

  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars

  • Maintains company organization charts

  • Conducts new-hire orientation

  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals

  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

  • Participate in other projects as required

Required Qualifications :

  • 2 - 3 years of manufacturing experience

  • 3 - 5 years Human Resources experience

  • PC skills with proficiency in MS Office including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledgeable in HR policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of hiring processes

  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations

  • Communication skills needed


  • Bachelors degree and three to five years of HR experience

Specialist areas of experience preferred:

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential
