Job Description :
Provides support for the Information Systems Department by installing, configuring and trouble-shooting information systems and associated information networks. Individual will also provide training and technical support to system end users. 


Primarily inside work in controlled environment. While performing the duties of this job, may be exposed to the risk of electrical contact and may be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is generally moderate. Regular work hours with some overtime and extended workdays due to work requirements. Will be subject to being called out after hours and weekends. On call will apply. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting a Windows Server domain with Active Directory and Exchange environments.

  • Provides users with desktop /network technical support and training regarding applications and information system equipment.

  • Performs 1st and 2nd Tier network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose issues with network problems.

  • Performs network backups under the supervision of the Information Systems Supervisor.

  • Assist in maintaining, migrating, and installing various systems.

  • Installs network software and hardware components as required.

  • Installs, upgrades and configures network printing software / hardware. Assists with customizing for specific applications.

  • Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning user and resource access on the network.

  • Supports and maintains various network and information systems. e.g. Switches, SCADA Systems, TWACS Systems, Outage Management Systems.

  • Provides VOIP telephone system assistance.

  • Performs troubleshooting, maintenance and installation of interoffice telecommunications, data services and equipment.

  • Provides Internet support and other related duties.

  • Assists with troubleshooting, maintaining, and installation of various types of communication equipment including, but not limited to: Wireless Point to Point Systems, Two Way Truck Radio System and GPS/AVL.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field preferred, plus a minimum of 4 years experience; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

  • Must be able to read and comprehend written material and write legibly.

  • Must be able to exhibit satisfactory communication skills.

  • Must have Server and Desktop configuration and administration experience.

  • Must have Server and Desktop network environment troubleshooting experience.

  • Must have Data Communications experience.

  • Must have Wireless / RF Communications experience.

  • Must have Ethernet TCP/IP network experience.

  • Must have the ability to effectively troubleshoot PC and Server related problems.

  • Must have the ability to orally present information effectively in one-on-one and small group meetings.

  • Must maintain confidentiality in all work-related matters.

  • License and Certifications:

  • Must have and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

  • Standard first aid and CPR certification.

  • Must have or can obtain two of the following Industry Certifications within the first 2 months of employment: COMPTIA A+, COMPTIA Network+, COMPTIA Server+, or COMPTIA Security+


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Some lifting may be periodically required up to 40 pounds
