Job Summary/Overview
The Landscape Superintendent assists the Director of Landscape Operations with landscape maintenance and contract management of sales paths, community buildings, subdivisions, residential landscape maintenance and community common area landscapes and irrigation systems. Position also includes the planning, design, and oversight of the landscape site development. This position is responsible for the oversight, design and installation of residential irrigation and landscape packages including contractor adherence to water management district and water supply regulations. Support Customer Service through timely review and completion of service tickets. The Landscape Supervisor supports the employer on all Arboricultural related issues such as tree safety, heath, and hazard abatement.

  • Consult with peers or other employees to share guidance and expertise in the landscape, turf, and arboricultural field

  • Assist in management of CDD landscape right of way and drainage retention area contracts

  • Assist with development and enforcement of community standards

  • Assist in modification form for compliance

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies, intercompany communication, and the community at large

  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence

  • Ability to present information to management, regulatory agencies, and public groups

  • Ability to read graphs and interpolate scientific data or other nonverbal communication

  • Support Sustainable Landscape Management (SLM). Represent SLM and provide SLM support. Supervise crews and equipment for SLM in the absence of manager

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in landscape maintenance and/or installation

  • Must have a valid Florida Driver's License for required travel

  • Employer will conduct  Motor Vehicle Records check


Technical Skills:

  • Ability to communicate with written and oral presentation

  • Ability to review and understand engineered drawings and landscape plans

  • Ability to multitask and establish priorities through project management

  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment

  • Exhibits leadership, flexibility and responsibility

  • Possess a thorough  knowledge of office procedure and contract administration

  • Ability to use working knowledge of all procedural and county requirements for plan submittal and approval to obtain construction documents

  • Technical knowledge of irrigation systems (installation and operation)

  • Ability to manage efficiency and meet deadlines

  • Possess negotiation skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Ability to present with expertise in large crowds

  • Bilingual (Spanish) helpful but not required

  • Plan; manage maintenance contracts, installation contracts and oversight for all landscape projects within the development.

  • Customer/Resident Support

  • Coordinate project layout and coordinate unified design for review and approval

  • Assist in development of cost estimates and scheduling

  • Represent and coordinate bidding process for all projects

  • Direct the progress of project including scheduling, permitting, construction, and quality control

  • Oversight of residential and commercial landscape construction contracts

  • Oversight of landscape maintenance contracts

  • Oversee and coordinate contractors, contractor employees and Parkway Maintenance and Management employees

  • Landscape construction and installation compliance monitoring

  • Budgetary approval and monitoring of contractor invoices

  • Oversight of a variety of landscape and hardscape projects at one time

  • Consult with management to determine spatial and functional requirements for design review

  • Represent company values and direction in public forum, expos and classes through MTP



Required Qualifications :


  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field
