Examples of Duties:

This is a responsible public relations and highly technical and analytic position working with industrial, commercial and residential customers. Primary responsibility involves establishing and maintaining liaisons with new and existing large commercial and industrial customers through customer contacts in person and by telephone as well as working with all customers through various educational and outreach efforts. The Business Relations Coordinator reports to the Division Supervisor.
Establish and maintain close customer relations with residential, commercial and industrial customers, providing information on available services, rates, and programs.

Perform analysis of large commercial and industrial energy usage as it relates to demand peaks and power factor using data from various sources to chart historical energy usage and provide technical information to maximize the customer's energy needs.

Develop and implement conservation and rebate programs to achieve the goals and objectives of the City of Ocala Utility Services, Florida Municipal Power Association and Florida Public Service Commission.

Represent the city's utilities on state electric association committee's as well local business associations and agencies such as the Chamber and Economic Development Council (CEP), Marion County Home Builders Association, Association of Realtors, in the development of a professional, business relationships.

Work with all customers to achieve their understanding of energy consumption, efficiency measures and quality of service as it relates to their home or facility. Be well versed and have ability to explain the benefits and advantages of such programs as net metering, advanced metering infrastructure, rebates and other utility programs and services offered by utility.

Coordinate with internal and external partners in resolving customer power quality issues, energy and water consumption and billing concerns.

Maintain surveillance over large commercial and industrial large power accounts determining eligibility for rates and incentive programs.

Investigate commercial and industrial customer concerns and inquiries. The Business Relations Coordinator will be available to the large commercial and industrial customer's needs either by phone or in person, whenever the customer requires assistance.

Assist in working special events, providing educational programs for youth, civic, and business organizations promoting the conservation, reliability, and value of the utility.

Graduate from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in electrical engineering, or business administration. Five years of professional experience in public relations and energy management. An associate's degree in business management or technical electrical engineering training with seven (7) years' experience in energy management or performing commercial energy audits, in conjunction with public relations experience may be acceptable for this position at the discretion of the Utility Director or designee.

Commercial Energy Auditor or Energy Manager Certification
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Operators Driver's License for required travel
Knowledge of utility rates, rate structure, billing, and utility terminology, or ability to acquire such knowledge. Knowledge of applicable utility conservation measures for commercial and industrial customers. Ability to establish and maintain good public relations with customers. Ability to speak clearly and effectively with the business representatives of large commercial and industrial accounts. Ability to use independent judgment to resolve customer concerns. Must be able to research and generate reports as necessary. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all customers, City officials, employees, and other persons dealt with in the course of work. Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional when working in stressful situations. Must be able to change priorities to meet customer's needs. Must be available to respond to large power commercial customer's inquiries and concerns, even after hours, weekends, and holidays.

Annual Salary: $50,700.00 - $91,500.00, DOE
