Job Description :
Construction Superintendent will oversee the operations of a construction site, from planning to completion. The duties of a construction superintendent include; responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site. Duties will vary daily according to job changes and urgencies.

Job Duties:

  • Run commercial construction project

  • Read and understand blueprints, plans, shop drawings, specifications

  • Accomplish project goals by communicating objectives to employees, subcontractors, etc.

  • Maintain strict build-out construction schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met

  • Understand the full scope of each subcontract to manage sub-contractors

  • Resolve field problems with subcontractors and building officials

  • Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions

  • Create RFI's

  • Calculate and allocate resources required

  • Schedule and coordinate staff and sub-contactors

  • Evaluate milestone assumptions and conclusions.

  • Resolve design problems

  • Evaluate and implement change orders

  • Coordinate, conduct and pass inspections with authorities having jurisdiction

  • Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing codes

  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by understanding, following and enforcing standards and procedures to comply with legal regulations

  • Coordinate and interact in a professional manner with owners and design professionals on unexpected challenges

  • Enhance organization reputation by providing impeccable customer service, accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • Interact in a professional manner to educate owners, landlords, tenants on aesthetic and practical choices for build-outs

  • Establish, monitor and maintain a written job log for daily work and safety compliance

  • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications

  • Approve construction projects by coordinating and conducting inspections at critical phases; obtaining approvals from buyers

  • Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes

Required Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • AA or Bachelors' degree preferred

  • Valid driver's license required for travel

  • 10+ years' construction experience

  • 5+ year's in supervisory capacity (foreman, etc.)

  • 5+ years' experience as a working Field Superintendent in the construction industry

  • 1+ year hospital, K-12 and/or higher education construction a plus

  • 2+ years' experience in build-out construction

  • Proven experience in passing required inspections

  • Hold First Aid/AED/CPR certification

  • Certifications- OSHA 30, and Procore Superintendent a plus

  • Knowledge of all phases of construction processes from start to completion

  • Strong attention to detail and focused on quality

  • Knowledge of ADA, OSHA, ACHA requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form

  • Experienced providing leadership and customer service

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and associated software

  • Experience and use of project management software  ProCore is a plus

  • Experience working on computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.

  • Employer conducts a background check and drug test

  • Prescribe to safe work as defined in OSHA safety

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Hours not specified

Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 DOE
