Essential Functions

 



  • Reviews plans, specifications, calculations, engineering reports, as-built drawings, etc. submitted in support of permit applications and projects for utility facilities associated with residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial projects to ensure compliance with standards, ordinances and laws

  • Preparation of engineering design drawings and specifications

  • Assist various Water Resources Department Staff members with problem solving, calculations, reviews, meeting attendance, drawing preparation, presentation preparation, etc.

  • Work well under the direction of Water Resources Department engineers and project managers

  • Assistance with field work and on-site inspection of utility projects

  • Assistance with grants, grant funding, and grant related document preparation

  • Meeting attendance with citizens, permit applicants, developers, contractors, consultants, etc.

  • Perform records research relating to property, easements, etc.

  • Assist with AutoCAD drawing preparation











Salary Disclosure:
Starting Salary: $2,206.68 Bi-weekly (Exempt)
Salary range: $2,206.68 to $3,232.65 Bi-weekly (Exempt)
Required Qualifications :


  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering is required

  • E.I. Certification is preferred

  • Applicants should be at a minimum a recent college graduate with internship experience in general civil engineering design, site development, residential development, transportation projects, and water and wastewater related projects. Applicants should also have knowledge in interpreting field surveys, plan review, and site construction. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and ArcGIS is required

  • Strong knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D is preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are also required


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Skills:

  • Valid Florida Driver License required

  • Must have or be able to obtain within two years: E.I. Certification

  • Must have or be able to obtain within two years: FDOT Intermediate Level Maintenance of Traffic and FDEP Stormwater Management Inspector certifications

  • Must have or be able to obtain within 90 days: certification in FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses 100C, 200B, 700B and 800B
