Major Function
This is a technical position providing professional assistance to the County Departments in a variety of functions including website design, operations and testing; multimedia support of visual and audio equipment for events and live streaming; and regular monitoring of electronic documents for WCAG ADA compliance. This individual is highly motivated, self-directed, and works independently.

Essential Functions
The following statements describe the principal functions of this job and its scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

  • Primarily responsible for reviewing the creation, design and maintenance of the Countys websites to facilitate user-friendly functionality for Marion County employees and citizens.

  • Testing websites across browsers, operating systems and devices.

  • Ensuring functionality and efficiency of sites and web servers.

  • Set up, operate, maintain and repair equipment used to enhance streaming of live BCC meetings and other events, such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment.

  • Responsible for performing ADA WCAG compliance monitoring of Marion County electronic documents.

  • Regularly monitors and provides technical assistance on accessibility of electronic documents to bring into compliance with ADA WCAG requirements.

  • Conducts training and coordination with other County Departments related to ADA WCAG standards.

  • Develops and maintains new procedures and policies to improve website and electronic document accessibility.

  • Makes procedural and operational recommendations to the supervisor.

  • Attends and participates in meetings with County ADA Liaisons, advising of corrective measures and compliance issues.

  • Researches and prepares Legal Requests Memorandums.

  • Creates and oversees effective and efficient methods to track compliance and website issues.

  • Remains current with WCAG updated standards.

  • Supports the organizations guiding principles and core values.

Secondary Functions

  • Performs records management functions associated with compliance report tracking.

  • Performs research in obtaining price quotes for regularly required and special project items; evaluates cost impacts of necessary materials, parts and supplies.

  • Attends various meetings and serves on committees as directed.

  • Performs clerical or other support functions as required.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications :
Education and Experience
Associates degree in Information Technology or related field with 4 years experience and 2 years preferred experience with multimedia productions and/or conducting accessibility testing on multiple platforms and devices or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the technology field.

Possess a valid State of Florida Driver License

Work Schedule: Full Time position: Adjusted week schedule for PM Meetings

Salary: $18.30 - $28.26 per hour, DOE
