PT Communications Specialist

Job Description :

The Communications Specialist reports to the Director of Strategic Communications and helps implement communication tactics associated with the strategic communication and marketing plan. Utilizes multiple integrated communications and marketing tools to effectively share compelling and storytelling messages to varying target audiences. Effectively communicates via phone and email. Attends to detail and completes work accurately. Maintains confidentiality and deadlines with coordinated message scheduling. Uses experience, judgment, and collaboration skills to plan work and accomplish goals independently and with the team.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


·         Draft and design email communications to varying target audiences using Constant Contact


·         Coordinate social media calendar and create/schedule social media posts (currently through Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter)


·         Research and create presentations, using Excel and PowerPoint


·         Participate in communications team planning efforts of the Foundation


·         Assist with website writing and maintenance (WordPress, HTML preferred)


·         Reply to email, telephone, or face to face inquiries


·         Work one-on-one with nonprofit leaders to assist their communication strategies as needed


·         Excellent, grammatically correct written and verbal communication  


 


·         Microsoft Office proficient, WordPress knowledgeable, Social Media content creation


·         Ability to collaborate, take initiative, use good judgment, and maintain discretion


·         Attention to detail; ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects


 


Salary:$17.00/hr.


Schedule:15-20 hours per week


Required Qualifications :

REQUIREMENTS:          


·         Social media management experience on a professional level (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn)


·         Strong writing ability


·         Content creation for print and social including photography, videography, and photo/video editing


·         Time management, organization, and planning skills


·         Ability to collaborate, work on multiple projects and prioritize work with a teachable spirit


·         High school diploma or equivalent (BA preferred)
